Anton is an exceptional specialist in the realm of tax disputes, equipped with extensive knowledge and expertise. His proficiency extends to providing innovative tax solutions for complex situations, including offshore structuring, corporate structures, family succession planning, and property taxation. As a recognized authority in the field, Anton serves as an esteemed author for prominent publications such as Lexis Nexis and CCH, regularly contributing insightful articles to industry journals. His areas of focus primarily revolve around managing tax risks and navigating the intricacies of HMRC. With a rich background in academia, Anton has been a respected lecturer on tax and asset protection for over two decades.

Before establishing Edge Tax, Anton embarked on an academic journey, immersing himself in the study of Taxation and Revenue Law. Following university, his career started with Ernst and Young’s Tax Risk Management team, where he honed his expertise in finding effective tax solutions. He further expanded his knowledge within technical teams, developing innovative tax strategies. After gaining valuable experience through a secondment, Anton ventured into a slightly different path, joining an offshore fiduciary services provider. There, he played a vital role in setting up two UK tax practices and a financial services business before ultimately establishing his own practice.

The founding of Edge Tax was driven by Anton’s desire for the freedom to work with intermediaries and clients without the constraints of traditional restrictions. This entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to personalised service set Edge apart from the rest.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Anton finds immense fulfilment in spending quality time with his family. He has a passion for cooking, delighting in the culinary arts. Additionally, he enjoys engaging in DIY projects, embracing the satisfaction of creating and building. With an innate entrepreneurial drive, Anton is constantly on the lookout for new business ventures where he can add value and explore his creative side beyond the realms of tax.

Cate Jackson is our Chartered Tax Advisor and Senior Tax Manager at Edge Tax, boasting extensive expertise in residency advice and property taxation, with a strong focus on Capital Gains Tax and Let Property Campaign disclosures. As a skilled manager, Cate leads both the compliance and advisory  teams at Edge, overseeing HMRC enquiries and disclosures as well various tax planning and advisory endeavours. Cate has also developed a strong network of professional contacts in the area, and is often working on the business development side of the business.

With a remarkable tenure of 9 years at Edge, Cate initially joined as admin support and swiftly progressed to obtain her professional qualifications. Prior to her time at Edge, Cate forged a successful career in the hospitality and admin support sectors, showcasing her versatility and dedication.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Cate finds joy in various activities. She indulges in the thrill of climbing, constantly seeking new heights. Additionally, she expresses her creativity through dance, exploring different forms such as salsa, bachata, and ceroc. A passionate crafter, Cate often utilises her lunch breaks to bring her latest artistic creations to life.

Jonathan, a dedicated Tax Associate at Edge Tax, is poised to embark on his journey towards becoming a Chartered Tax Adviser, a testament to his unwavering commitment to professional excellence. He actively contributes to the advisory facet of our business, providing crucial support to Anton and Cate. In this capacity, he gains valuable exposure to a range of services, from HMRC tax investigations to inheritance tax planning and intricate business structuring.

Having recently commenced his journey with Edge Tax Jonathan’s career trajectory initially ventured into the accounting realm. However, his enduring fascination with taxation led him to seek a more aligned path. He began his career as a finance apprentice within the Civil Service, immersing himself in various departments through rotational experiences. It was during this period that he decided to branch into the private sector, ultimately embarking on a role as a bookkeeper within the hospitality industry. This role enabled him to start learning about in self-assessment tax returns and taxation matters.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Jonathan’s life is rich and diverse. He’s an avid player of badminton, relishing the physical and strategic elements of the game. He also finds exhilaration in bouldering, channelling his energy into conquering challenging climbing routes. Jonathan’s musical inclinations shine as he plays the baritone in a brass band, a role that sees him not only competing in competitions but also enchanting audiences through captivating annual concerts. A passionate learner, he nurtures his fascination for languages by learning new ones, his latest is German.

Accounts and Compliance Executive Alice is an invaluable member of the Edge Tax team.  With a meticulous attention to detail, she expertly manages her client portfolio, undertaking crucial tasks such as annual accounts preparation, Corporation Tax and VAT returns. Alice possesses a particular passion for assisting directors of owner-managed businesses to optimise profit extraction through tax-efficient strategies.  She is currently pursuing further studies with ACCA, with a view to enhancing her professional offering.

Having dedicated 8 fruitful years to Edge Tax, Alice joined the team immediately after completing her A Levels. Her commitment and dedication to her role have been unwavering since day one, making her an invaluable asset to our organisation.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Alice cherishes quality time spent with her children, and exploring nature .  She also indulges in the intriguing pursuit of researching her family history, delving into the stories of her ancestors. Additionally, Alice possesses a creative spirit, frequently embarking on DIY projects that captivate her interest, even if they may never reach completion!

Amy is a valuable asset to the compliance team at Edge Tax, working as an Accounts and Compliance Executive. Despite joining Edge Tax just 6 months ago, she has swiftly made her mark and become an indispensable member of our team. Amy has diligently built up her client portfolio, taking charge of payroll management, bookkeeping, and providing invaluable assistance to the team in annual accounts preparation and VAT returns. Her areas of expertise lie in VAT compliance and meticulous bookkeeping.

Prior to joining Edge, Amy worked as an accounts assistant for another accountancy firm specialising in the vibrant hospitality sector. Before embarking on her journey at Edge, Amy took the opportunity to fulfil her postponed travel plans to Denmark and Australia, immersing herself in new cultures and experiences that were temporarily put on hold due to the pandemic.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Amy assumes the role of captain in her local badminton club, demonstrating her leadership skills and passion for the sport. She possesses a wanderlust spirit, indulging in travel adventures, with her most recent escapade entailing a captivating three-week journey through Japan. Additionally, Amy delights in the art of culinary experimentation, predominantly focusing on Asian cuisine. An avid video gamer, she also finds joy and entertainment in immersive digital worlds.

Jack is a recent addition to the Edge Tax team, joining us as an Accounts Executive. In this pivotal role, Jack excels in the preparation and filing of year-end accounts, VAT returns, and lends his expertise to client bookkeeping tasks. His unique approach to work centers around optimising efficiency, a testament to his commitment to streamlining processes for the benefit of both our team and clients. Notably, Jack possesses a deep-rooted passion for ethics, infusing his work with integrity and moral responsibility.

Before embarking on his journey with Edge Tax, Jack honed his skills in similar roles across the dynamic landscapes of Manchester and Brighton. His professional repertoire encompasses an array of financial responsibilities, including bookkeeping, company accounts, VAT returns, and payroll management for limited companies. Additionally, he possesses the proficiency to handle personal tax returns for sole traders and partnerships, reflecting his versatility in the field.

Currently, Jack is diligently pursuing his AAT Level 4 qualification, further enhancing his expertise and contributing to his professional growth.

Jane, the Office Manager at Edge Tax, is the driving force behind the smooth day-to-day operations of our office. With her impeccable organizational skills, she expertly assists our team with the administrative aspects of our business. Jane is also entrusted with the important task of keeping Anton on track, managing his diary and welcoming new clients on board. As the initial point of contact for those reaching out to Edge, she ensures that everyone’s needs are met with utmost professionalism.

Since joining Edge at the end of last year, Jane has brought about a remarkable transformation in our office and team dynamics. Prior to her tenure here, she amassed valuable experience in various office management roles within companies in and around Bristol. In addition, she showcased her entrepreneurial spirit by successfully owning and operating her own dog walking business.

Beyond her work life, Jane’s passion for dogs remains unwavering. Whether dog sitting or taking leisurely walks, she cherishes every moment spent with our four-legged friends. Moreover, she possesses a talent for baking, treating the office to delightful culinary creations. Whenever possible, Jane embarks on weekend getaways to explore new destinations, satisfying her thirst for travel and adventure.
